Drug Guidance for Subsidy
[NR] The Ministry of Health’s Drug Advisory Committee has not recommended selpercatinib for inclusion on the MOH List of Subsidised Drugs for treating adult patients with locally advanced or metastatic non-small-cell lung cancer with a rearranged during transfection (RET) gene fusion. The decision was based on selpercatinib being unlikely to represent an acceptable use of healthcare resources at the price proposed by the company.
Clinical indication, subsidy class and MediShield Life claims eligibility for selpercatinib are provided in the Annex.
The Ministry of Health’s Drug Advisory Committee has recommended:
Selpercatinib 40 mg and 80 mg capsules and tablets as monotherapy for:
patients 12 years of age and older with advanced or metastatic medullary thyroid cancer with a rearranged during transfection (RET) mutation who require systemic therapy; and
patients 12 years of age and older with advanced or metastatic thyroid cancer with a RET gene fusion who require systemic therapy and who are radioactive iodine-refractory (if radioactive iodine is appropriate).
in view of clinical need, and acceptable clinical effectiveness, safety, and pricing proposal by the company.
Funding status
[R] Selpercatinib 40 mg and 80 mg capsules and tablets are recommended for inclusion on the Medication Assistance Fund (MAF) for the abovementioned indications from 1 September 2026.
Clinical indications, subsidy class and MediShield Life claims eligibility for selpercatinib are provided in the Annex.
